Privacy Policy

This page explains what information this website collects when you visit, and what happens to it. The short version: we run a small information site, we do not run the Aswesuma programme, we do not ask for your National Identity Card number, your bank details or any other personal welfare information, and you should never type those details into this site.
What we collect. Like most websites, this site may record basic technical information when your browser loads a page — things like your IP address, browser type, the page you visited and the time of the visit. This is standard server logging used to keep the site running, spot errors and understand which guides people actually read. If you leave a comment in the on-site discussion, the name and message you choose to post are stored so the comment can be displayed. Do not include private details in a public comment — no NIC numbers, no phone numbers, no bank account numbers.
What we do not collect. We never ask for, and have no way to receive, your Aswesuma application data, Proxy Means Test score, appeal documents or payment information. Those live only with the Welfare Benefits Board and its official systems. If any page, message or person claiming to be this site asks you for your NIC, a copy of your identity card, or money to "process" a benefit, it is a scam — stop and report it, and use the official board channels instead: www.wbb.gov.lk or the helpline 1924.
Cookies and third parties. The site may use cookies for basic functions and anonymous usage statistics. Advertising or analytics services, where present, may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not sell visitor information. Links on this site lead to official government websites such as wbb.gov.lk and eservices.wbb.gov.lk; once you leave this site, those websites have their own privacy rules, and your activity there is between you and them.
Your choices. You can browse this entire site without giving us any personal information at all. If you posted a comment and want it removed, raise it in the on-site discussion and we will deal with it. We may update this policy page when the site changes; the current version always sits at this address.
